On Tuesday, July 26, 202, Amaris Eliana Young, age 18, was welcomed into heaven.
Saturday, July 16, 2022 she was in a car accident and was flown to Cox Hospital where she was cared for until July 26, 2022 and departed for glory.
Amaris was born in Springfield, Missouri on July 8th, 2004, to Scott & Samantha Young, since that day, Amaris has been spreading sunshine everywhere she has gone. She was a sweet, shy, full of fun little girl who blossomed into an intelligent, beautiful inside and out, thoughtful, loving, silly, adventurous, young lady who oozed Jesus’ love for others.
Growing up she was a curious, snuggly, little girl who loved books and to be close to her mama & daddy. Amaris enjoyed just spending time with her family.
Amaris attended kindergarten in Teutopolis, Illinois and then her family moved to Clever, Missouri in 2010 where she attended Clever Schools for her elementary and middle school education. She was homeschooled for three of her High School years. For her senior year of school Amaris attended Christian Ministries Academy. Where she enjoyed playing volleyball, and participating in music, drama and art classes. Amaris graduated from CMA in May of 2022.
Some of Amaris’ hobbies were, reading, painting, & singing. She was a self taught guitarist and loved many genres of music. Amaris loved to be outside hiking, floating and enjoying Gods creation. She made everything an adventure! And as much as she loved adventures, she also loved being home, making treats, watching movies, playing games, being silly, making memories and enjoying simple beauty in life.
Lucky Panda in Clever was Amaris’ first job, she enjoyed her job and meeting new people. She worked there for 2years. Republic Park & Rec. was her most recent job where she was a camp counselor, tumbling class assistant, worked in concessions at multiple sports events, and special events, like the Princess tea party where she dressed up as Rapunzel. She also enjoyed being an encouragement to others running in the Mud Run, Reindeer dash, and even dressed as The Flash for a kids run.
Raised on a Biblical foundation, she participated in Bible quizzing, Youth, VBS and being in church productions from childhood into her early teenage years. Christian Ministries Church is the Young family’s church home and where Amaris was a part of youth group, served in kids church, and looked forward to helping with VBS each summer.
Amaris loved being a big sister to her four younger siblings Micah, SamanthaClaire, Judah & Graceson. You could hear her cheering at baseball games, encouraging them at school, leaving thoughtful notes, taking them to Casey’s for drinks in her truck Indy, and other thoughtful ways often. She had great friendships with her older siblings. Always texting or calling to say, Hi and checking in on life with her big brother Landon. Having coffee with her big sister Kaitlin or going thrifting, and often in fits of laughter wherever they went. Amaris was over the moon to be an Aunt, she would drop everything at the door to get to kiss on Gracelynn first, always taking pictures and making her smile. Lovingly nicknamed Mace by her family that she always made time for.
With her new chapter just beginning, she was looking forward to a future with her boyfriend of almost 2years, Zach Wood. Attending Leaders Academy in Hot Springs, Arkansas and pursuing a career in the dentistry field.
The warmest most cheerful smiles always beamed from Amaris’ face. She was a friend to everyone and made you feel loved just by talking to her. But that wasn’t just Amaris, that was Jesus shining through her. People were drawn to her because of how she lived her life for Jesus. Amaris had a heart for people, to feel loved, seen and to know their true worth, and to see themselves the way Jesus saw them. Always hopeful, her glad was always full-not half-full, but full.
