Carl Lee “Rusty” Reel
After a courageous struggle with health for the past few years, Carl Lee “Rusty” Reel passed away peacefully at age 87, with his loving family by his side at Cox Medical Center South Springfield, Missouri, March 15, 2016.
Serving in the United Sates Army during the Korean War, he was stationed in the Seoul Korea area and serviced as a medic.
He successfully became a builder as a young man in the Crane, Missouri area building he and his wife’s first home on a ten day leave from the service. His building career included around 100 homes before his retirement in 1990.
Rusty was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Herbert Reel and Elvia Strait; and brother, Lewis Eugene Reel.
Surviving are his wife, Orvilene Reel; daughters, Carlene Hunter and husband Byron and Monica Vaught and husband Jim; grandchildren, Allison Lind and husband Chad, Heidi Rasmussen and husband Cody, Ethan Vaught and Olivia Hunter; great grandchildren, Logan Vaught, Kaidyn and BerklieRasmussen and Lydia Lind.
He is also survived by a sister, Donna Vaught and husband Perry; nieces, Tasha Vaught, Debbie Hilton and Jeanie Messer; nephews, Scott and Chad Vaught, Ronnie and Wayne Reel and their families.
Funeral services were Friday, March 18, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Reavisville Baptist Church, Reavisville, Missouri. Interment will be at the Crane Community Cemetery, Crane, Missouri under the care of Westrip Funeral Home, Crane, Missouri.
