Cape Fair, MO – Carol Ann Kirk, a devoted homemaker known for her warmth, strength, and unwavering spirit, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 22, 2025, in Cape Fair, Missouri, at the age of 87. Known as Annie by her friends, she will be forever missed.
Born on June 23, 1937, in St. Louis, Missouri, Annie was the cherished daughter of the late Harold J. Grasham and Muriel M. Wolkenhauer. She completed her education and soon embarked on her most fulfilling role: that of a loving wife and mother.
Annie’s life was centered around her family and home. As a dedicated homemaker, she created a nurturing environment for her seven children, and her culinary skills were renowned among those who knew her. She found immense joy in cooking and, above all, in spending time with her beloved family.
On August 20, 2012, Annie was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Obie R. Kirk. Their life together was a testament to enduring love and commitment.
Annie’s personality was a unique blend of remarkable kindness and a formidable stubbornness, both present in equal measure. She possessed a rare gift for connecting with people, truly never meeting a stranger. Yet, she was also known for her resolute spirit, never backing down from a fight or an argument if she believed in her stance. Her most significant achievement, one she held dear, was raising her loving family, a legacy evident in the lives of her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Linda M. Fisher, Donald J. Kirk, Diane L. Kramper, Cindy A. Kirk, Chris J. Kirk, and Keith J. Kirk and her sister Terry L. Gardner. Annie was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen K. Kirk, as well as her brothers, Robert J. Grasham and Raymond J. Grasham. Her memory will also be treasured by her 22 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
