​David Glenn Cypret, age 79, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, integrity, and a deep love for the outdoors.,
Born in Myrtle, MO, to Joel and Ida Mae (Bowling)Cypret on August 12, 1945. On November 27, 1987, he was united in marriage to Mary (Rosier) in Phoenix, AZ. David dedicated his life to his trade as a roofer. He was known as a hardworking man who wasn’t afraid to get his hands dirty and do the job right. Over the years, his work took him across multiple states, where he built rooftops and lasting friendships. No matter where he worked, his strong work ethic, honesty, and willingness to lend a hand earned him the respect of all who knew him.
Outside of work, David was an avid outdoorsman. He found peace and joy in nature, spending countless hours hunting in the woods and fishing in lakes and rivers. The stillness of early mornings in the forest or the quiet ripples of water at dusk were where he felt most at home. His love for the outdoors was not just a hobby—it was a way of life.
He is survived by his wife Mary of the home, children, Karen (Brian) Cypret of Washburn, MO. Scott (Teresa) Cypret of Crane, MO., Melissa (John) King of Rutledge, TN, Duane Cypret of Union City, MO, Michele Cypret of Hurley, MO and Greg Whisenhunt of Hurley, MO. 32 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. 3 brothers, Leamon, Harold and Rick and 1 sister Wanda. Numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joel and Ida Cypret, son Tony Whisenhunt, and grandson Nathan Johnson.
David lived a life rooted in hard work, family, and a deep appreciation for the simple things. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A service to honor David's life will be held on Friday July 11, 2025 at 10am at the Short Cemetery, Hurley, MO, with visitation at the Hurley Community Center after. Final disposition will be cremation under the care of Westrip Funeral Home Crane, Missouri.
