Charles Edward “Eddy” Asher, age 76 of Cape Fair, Missouri passed away on November 20, 2020. Eddy was born December 21, 1943, in Aurora, Missouri to Earnest Sanders Asher and Ruth Martha (Henson) Asher. He grew up on the family farm - Asher’s Cane Bottom. He married Linda Ann Latapie on January 4th, 1965, in Chalmette, Louisiana. Eddy retired after 30 years with JCPenney Construction, he remodeled and built new stores all over the United States.
Eddy is survived by his children, Julie A. Asher, Katie L. Asher and husband Casey Woodworth, Shane E. Asher and wife Renee, Jeremy S. Asher and wife Tiffany. His beloved grandchildren Christopher S. Asher, Austin J. Nickell, Antonia E. Asher, Calista R. Asher, Reagan A. Asher, Cody R. Asher, Logan E. Asher, and great-granddaughter Mina Mae Asher. He is also survived by his siblings Mary Ruth Tearney, Sharon Asher Munyun (Dwain), Betty Asher Jenkins, Linda Sue Asher, Reatha Asher-Lloyd and Ansel Asher (Karen). And a special friend Iris Chambers.
He was preceded in death by his wife Linda Ann, his daughter Lisa Ann, and parents Earnest and Ruth Asher, and brother Earnest “Sonny” Asher.
Eddy was probably best known for his love of music. He was a gifted singer and song-writer and always enjoyed bringing out his guitar to play a song or two. He made sure to pass along his love of music to his children and grandchildren. The sound of his voice, his trademark yodel, the train whistle, and the stories in his songs will be sincerely missed.
A small private memorial for immediate family only will be held Saturday, November 28th at the Cape Fair Christian Church.
