Gary Lynn Chambers, 74, Crane, Missouri was born February 9, 1950 in Crane, Missouri to Link and Dora Mounce Chambers and departed this life November 21, 2014 in Springfield, Missouri surrounded by his daughter and son and two granddaughters.
Gary had been a lifelong resident of Crane and had worked for the United States Postal Service.
Gary graduated from Crane High School in 1968, and had went to Crowder College to pursue a career as physical education teacher , but that was cut short by being drafted into the United States Army. He loved racing late model cars, hunting and fishing and teaching his grandchildren these things.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Garrett Chambers; two brothers, Linkford “JR” and Jessie Richard “Jay” Chambers; four sisters, Bea Simpson, Frances “Minnie” Higgins, Charlene Jones and Susan Compton; two grandsons, Lane Golden and Grant Chambers.
Survivors include a daughter, Tammy and husband Rusty Harris of Ash Grove, son, Eric Chambers of Crane; sister, Cheyrl Kelly; 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church Crane, Missouri. Burial was in Crane Community Cemetery, Crane.
