Flossie Joan Steele, 91, Crane, Missouri was born May 25, 1928 in Elsey, Missouri to James Franklin and Lula Francis King Logan and departed this life January 22, 2020 at the Hudson House Aurora, Missouri.
Joan was a lifelong resident of the area and member of the Crane First Church of God. She had worked as an administrator for Stone County Council on Aging. Joan enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinal Baseball and other sports on TV. She also enjoyed watching the birds at her feeders and visits from her grandkids.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Steele; four brothers, JW, Aldon, Everett and Harold Logan; six sisters, Velma Evans, Doris Lee, Gertie Custer, Muriel Ezzell, Nadine Murphy Jacqua and Mary May.
Survivors include two sons, Harold Steele and wife Leann and Gary Steele and wife Sandy; seven grandchildren, Whitney Hoffman and husband Gary, Brittany Barnett and husband Tommy, Jonathon Steele and wife Chelsey, Mackenzie Steele and wife Schanda, Derek Roof, Josie Dodson and husband Ethan and Dalton Steele; eleven great grand children, Braxton Steele, Kolton Hoffman, Parker Barnett, Natalie Hoffman, Emery Steele, Grayson Steele, Lillian Steele, Everly Dodson, Aiden, Bently and Liam Roof and sister in-law, Lois Logan. At the time of Joan’s passing her sister Freida Houser survived her but has now gone on to be with the Lord. Joan is also survived by her bonus family, Jack Steele and wife Theresa, Don (deceased) and wife Barbara Steele, Eddie Steele, Janice Barton and husband Bill, Kay Bequette and husband Leonard, numerous other relatives and friends. Joan will be mourned and missed by her loving family and all who knew her.
Funeral services were held on Monday, January 27, 2020 at 10;00 a.m. in Westrip Funeral Home, Crane, Missouri. Burial was in Crane Community Cemetery, Crane, Missouri under the care of Westrip Funeral Home. Visitation was Sunday, January 26, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 in the Funeral Home.
