Joe Elliott Stumpff
Joe Elliott Stumpff, age 79 passed away April 25, 2015 at 1:07 a.m. in Cox South, Springfield, Missouri. He was born November 14, 1935 to Gerald Stumpff and Edna Cottrell Stumpff. He was the older of two sons.
Joe was born and raised in Stone County, Missouri. Joe and Joyce were currently residing in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. He was a member of the Mt. Vernon Christian Church. Joe was a retired truck driver. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tease and play tricks on his family and friends. He loved Blue Grass music, square dancing, fishing, motorcycles, travel, adventure, and almost anything that had a festival at the end.
Joe married Joyce Sutherland on February 22, 1974 and they shared 41 years of marriage
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Edna Stumpff and a brother, Gary Stumpff.
He is survived by his wife Joyce; son, Larry and wife Gina of Miller, Missouri, daughter Gayle Edwards of Crane, Missouri, son, Charles and wife Leora of Seneca, Missouri. Step-daughter, Brenda Coffman and husband David of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, and step-daughter, Rita and husband Kevin of Mtn. Grove. Joe has eight grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren as well as a host of family and friends.
A visitation were held Saturday, May 2, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon in Westrip Funeral Home, Crane, Missouri. Burial was in the Clio Cemetery, Jenkins, Missouri under the care of Westrip Funeral Home.
