Justin Lee Dawson, age 28, was born on May 24, 1997, in Springfield, Missouri, and passed away on February 4, 2026, at Cox Monett Hospital.
Justin embraced life with a deep love for his family and friends. He spent every moment he could hunting, fishing, or riding sidebysides, happiest when he was outdoors no matter the weather. There was always an adventure to be had, and Justin could always find it.
He had a tremendous heart and an unforgettable personality, always willing to give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was a devoted son, brother, uncle, boyfriend, and friend—truly one of the very best.
Justin pursued vocational training in auto body repair through Votech and Ozarks Technical Community College and was employed at Mr. Dents in Ozark, Missouri. He took great pride in his craft, constantly striving to learn, improve, and do his absolute best.
He was a graduate of the Hurley High School Class of 2016.
We will miss his calls, and the familiar “love you, bye” that always ended them. His presence brought light and laughter to every day, and his absence leaves a space that cannot be filled.
Justin is survived by his mother, Julie Medlin Moore, and his stepfather, Steven Moore; his father, Jim Dawson; his siblings, Shannon (Kristin) Dawson, Courtney Wickliff, Kaitlyn Moore and her boyfriend, Trey, and Lucas Moore and his girlfriend, Bailey; his girlfriend, Brittany Haase; his nieces, Aubrey Murphy, Brailynn Hufft and Paislee Moore; and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Odie Moore.
Visitation will be held at Westrip Funeral Home in Crane, Missouri, on February 10, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on February 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., with burial to follow at Mars Hill Cemetery.
