Mary Louise Jones, 83, Pierce City, Missouri was born January 7, 1933 at Greenville, South Carolina to Frank and Bertha Olivia Merritt and departed this life April 28, 2020 in Springfield, Missouri.
Louise was a lifelong resident of Southwest, Missouri where she was a homemaker. She attended Hurley School. Louise loved baking and cooking where she would make her children tacos for their birthdays. She enjoyed bbq’s, fish fry’s and family gatherings. She also liked to watch Days of our lives on television, going to casinos and scratching lottery tickets. She loved her family and will greatly missed. Louise was preceded in death by the love of her life, Hurshel Clyde “Cotton” Jones; a son, Randy Lynn Jones; her parents and a sister. Judy Morris; four brothers, Pearson Merritt, Jack Merritt, Louie Merritt and Jim Merritt. Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Jennings and husband Michael of Springfield; four sons, Hurshel Jones and wife Nadine of Ozark, Missouri, Jack Jones and wife Chanda of Neosho, Missouri, Ronnie Jones of Pierce City and Tony Jones and wife Priscilla of Granby, Missouri; a sister, Janet Brooks and husband Gary of the state of Oregon; a brother, Johnnie Lockhart of the state of Arkansas; eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren other relatives and friends. Graveside funeral services were held on May 1, 2020 at Galena Community Cemetery under the care of Westrip Funeral Home Crane, Missouri.
