
Marguerite "Margie" Phipps, 79, passed away on March 2, 2025, in Springfield, Missouri. Born on August 27, 1945, in Crane, Missouri, Margie lived a life marked by devotion to faith and family.
Margie is survived by her beloved husband, Dean Phipps; daughters Sara VanHorn (Travis) and Sabrina Harbour (Ted); granddaughters Kristen Marshall (Tyler) and Devon Rivers (Sam); grandson Ryley Harbour (Ashley); great-grandchildren Carter, Ella, and Beckett Marshall and Baby Rivers; and sisters Rebecca Hudson (Jesse) and Nancy Harmon. She was preceded in death by her parents, James William and Sarah Idella Cortner, as well as her brother-in-law Phil Harmon.
A strong and driven individual, Margie was known for her intelligence, loyalty, and infectious personality. Her bubbly nature made her a people-person who brought laughter and warmth to those around her. A natural caregiver at heart, she found joy in spending time with loved ones and supporting her family in every way possible.
Margie had a deep love for gardening, antiquing, decorating, and most of all, watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren participate in sports and other activities. Her passion for family extended beyond daily life into her faith. A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, Margie worshiped through singing and continually prayed for her family.
Services to honor Margie's life will be held on March 6, 2025, at Bowling Chapel in Crane, Missouri. A visitation will take place from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Bowling Chapel Cemetery under the care of Westrip Funeral Home Crane, Missouri. All are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be to Bowling Chapel Cemetery or Access Hospice.
