​  Rocky Wayne Johnson passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Reed Spring, Missouri on October 2nd, 2025. Rocky was born on June 23, 1960 in Branson, Missouri to his loving parents Alvis and Elsie Johnson. Rocky attended Reed Spring Public Schools. Rocky began working at Silver Dollar City at the age of 14, where he honed his natural talent to making candy entertaining crowds.


Rocky is survived by his loving and devoted wife Jana Johnson and their cherished daughter Elsie Johnson. Rocky was also father to his son, Ryan Johnson (Catherine), and was grandfather to their children: Rhett, June, Hayes and Anne. Rocky’s sisters were June Ward (Joe Bill) and Linda Jay (Robert). Rocky was proceeded in death by his parents Alvis and Elsie Johnson and his brother Lonnie Johnson. 


Rocky's visitation will take place on Monday, October 6th, 2025 at 5:00 pm at Westrip Funeral Home in Crane, Missouri to be followed by the funeral service at 7:00 pm. A private graveside service will take place at the Eisenhower Cemetery in Spokane, Missouri.


To account for Rocky’s legacy is almost an impossible task. Rocky shared many talents and interests in which he thrived. Rocky was renowned for his prolific musical abilities, excelling at the guitar, bringing entertainment to his family and friends throughout his life. In addition, he had a passion for classic cars and the open road. Rocky’s curiosity extended into traveling, trying new foods and meeting new people everywhere he went. Rocky’s dedication to hard work, craftsmanship and business acumen propelled his success in owning and operating a thriving candy company, Davis Candy Company, carrying forward its legacy since 1911. Rocky was a dedicated friend to all who knew him, whether it was a full throated laugh, a sincere thoughtful message, or reaching out to kindly help, his ability improve the lives around him was obvious. Rocky’s devotion to his family was foremost in all he did: Building a home for his wife, cheering from the stands at his daughters volleyball games, tenderly caring for his aging parents, or checking in on his grandkids daily. Rocky will most be remembered for filling a room with smiles and laughter, his humor was renowned whether you were an old friend or a new acquaintance, meeting him made  your day with an extra moment of joy. There will never be another Rocky Johnson and will be severely missed by all.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 6, 2025 at 7:00 p.m in the funeral home. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until service time at 7:00 p.m. Private family burial will be Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Eisenhour Cemetery Spokane, Missouri under the care of Westrip Funeral Home Crane, Missouri.
