Roy Ronald Bertoglio passed away in his home on January 11th, 2025.
He was born June 3rd, 1944 to John G. Bertoglio and Delia O. Bertoglio in Sacremento California.
He was proceeded in death by his wife Ginger Bertoglio.
Roy had an adventurous life. After serving in the Army as a paratrooper, he moved his family to Homer , Alaska in 1973.
He headed that way in search of gold.
In his early years in Alaska, he bought a fishing boat and made his living as a king crab fisherman.
He resided in Kenai, Alaska until his retirement. Roy and Ginger moved to Clever, Missouri after retiring to be closer to family. His family was his greatest pride and joy. In their minds, he was larger then life. There was nothing he could or would not do for anyone. He was the "Rock" of his family. A salty rock, but a rock. Roy's love language was giving and that's what he did.
If all you saw was the salty rock, then you really didn't know Roy. When you put pressure on the rock, inside was pure gold. He was so loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was one of a kind.
Roy is survived by his son, Rick Bertoglio, and his daughters, Bobbye Batterson, Gidget Donovan and Jeanne Gonzalez and their families. He had 8 grand kids and 3 great grand kids.
Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in Galena Community Cemetery Galena, Missouri. Visitation will be from 12;00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
