Truman Samuel Stevens, 83, Crane, Missouri was born June 19, 1939 in Stone County Missouri to Luther Ed and Bertha Alice Hagler Stevens and departed this life September 18, 2022 at Cox Medical Center South Springfield, Missouri.
Truman grew up in Crane and moved to California after high school where he met Darlene and her three children and got married on November 27, 1998.While in California he worked as a mechanic. Truman enjoyed being on Harry Bellotto’s race team for eight years in the 90’s where he made lifelong friends The whole crew were like his family. After moving back to Crane in 2001 Truman never really retired. He mowed grass for the City of Crane, did janitorial work for the Crane R-III School District and helped out in the cafeteria. He would also be at the Crane Recycling Center from 9:00 a.m. till noon every Saturday.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Bobby Lynn Carver; four sisters, Rosa Lee Stevens, Novella Robertson, Doris Mae Blair and Patty A. “Patsy” Ayers; five brothers, Cecil L. Stevens, Max R. Stevens, Bobby Gene Stevens. Jerry Edward Stevens and Shirley Dean Stevens.
Survivors include his wife Darlene of the home; two sons, Don Stevens of Modesto, California and Ricky Carver of Guymon, Oklahoma; a daughter, Darla Guerra and husband James of Little Elm, Texas; a sister, Mildred Goddard of Tucson, Arizona; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, September23, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. in Westrip Funeral Home Crane, Missouri. Burial was in Crane Community Cemetery Crane.
