Arthur Pastian, 99, Crane, Missouri was born November 26, 1915 in New Leipzig, North Dakota to Gottlieb and Matilda Sandau Pastian and departed this life September 3, 2015 in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, Missouri.
Arthur had been a resident of the area for about 18 years coming from Chelan, Washington. He had served in the United States Navy during World War II and had worked as a bar tender for many years. Arthur in his early years worked in forestry for the state of Washington and picked apples and made wooden boxes for the apples. He loved his grandchildren and family.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Gottlieb and Matilda; two sons, Larry and Richard Pastian; grandson, Joseph Pastian; two sisters, Ester and Elsie Pastian and five brothers, Otto, Melvin, Paul, Leo and Marvin Pastian.
Survivors include a daughter, Joyce McCormick and husband James Robert of Crane; a son, Jerry Pastian of Lynn Wood, Washington; brother, Rudy Pastian of Sauke Centre, Minnesota; sister, Evei Kennedy also of Sauke Centre, Minnesota; 10 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Westrip Funeral Home, Crane with cremation following under the care of Westrip Funeral Home.
