Charles Alfred Houser Jr.
Charles Alfred Houser Jr. of Crane, Missouri passed away from this life
September 18, 2013. Charlie was
born September 10, 1931 in Hurley, Missouri to Alfred and Lou
Houser.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Leah Nell Ahrens
and three nephews.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Dyane (Mitchell) Houser of the
home; two daughters, Brenda Maddox and Cheryl Ann Houser; two grandsons, Matthew
and Mark Yount; he had two special almost daughters, Marla Shuler and Melissa
Bowman and their families. Also surviving are one niece and two
nephews.
Charlie spent many years on the farm where he was born and raised in
Hurley. He served his country as a United States Marine in Korea. Later he
served many years as Stone County Collector of Revenue and as president of the
Republican Party Organization. Charlie was a devoted Christian and a member of
the United Methodist Church in Aurora, Missouri. He was a member of the Masonic
Lodge in Galena, Missouri, Scottish Rite in Joplin, Missouri, Abou Ben Adam
Shrine in Springfield and of the Elks Lodge 2505 in Kimberling City,
Missouri.
Charlie will be missed by his beloved wife, his relatives and his many
friends.
Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, September 21, 2013 at
10:30 a.m. in Oak Grove Cemetery Crane, Missouri under the care of Westrip
Funeral Home Crane. Visitation will Saturday, September 21, 2013 from 9:00 a.m.
until 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
