Gladys Louise Clark, 88, Galena, Missouri was born March 16, 1926 in Ashland, Kansas to Gilbert Franklin and Bertha Ellen Crouch Hamblin and departed this life December 12, 2014 in Mercy Hospital Springfield, Missouri.
Gladys had been a resident of the area for the past 24 years coming from Kansas. She loved God and her church and was a member of the Landmarks Apostolic Church in Galena. Family was very important to Gladys, where she enjoyed cooking and having family dinners. “Any How Why” would be something she would say while telling stories, just to get their attention. Gladys loved to travel; she had been all over the United States, Germany, Europe and Hawaii and on one trip to New York she went to see a Broadway show which was a very fond memory that she had. She was always the leader of the pack and would easily make friends where ever she went.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters, Myrtle Knutson and Julia (Judy) Bourne and a grandson Brandon Massey.
Survivors include her four daughters, Gladys Charlene and Richard Nance of Topeka, Kansas, Brenda Louise and Robert (Bob) Edwards of Galena, Carolyn Christine Ready of Galena and Janice Diane and Tom Massey of Satanta, Kansas; 8 grandchildren, Todd and Kathy Nance of Kansas City , Kansas, Troyt and Cindy Nance of Topeka, Tausha and Adam Kress of Topeka, Bobby and Chelle Edwards of Wichita, Kansas, Robyn and Richard Bowling of Elsey, Missouri, Shannon and Robyn Ready of Hayesville, Kansas and Shawn and Renee Massey of Satanta; 26 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren several nephews, nieces and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Westrip Funeral Home Crane, Missouri. Burial was in Galena Community Cemetery under the care of Westrip Funeral Home.
