Wilburn Ray Robertson
Wilburn Ray Robertson. 87, Hurley, Missouri was born March 9, 1926 in
Taney County, Missouri to Henry and Susie Jenkins Robertson and departed this
life April 2, 2013 in his home.
Ray farmed, milked cows, put up hay and in later years started raising
beef cattle before he retired. He was known for his carpentry skill and the
gardens he had where he always had plenty to
share.
Papaw as all grandkids and great grandkids called him, loved to go
fishing, near or far there was always a lure to tie, pole to cast and more often
than not a fish on the other end. The most memorable fishing trips were to South
Dakota and Canada every year, they always brought back a freezer full of fish.
Ray preceded in death by his father, Henry Robertson, mother, Susie
Jenkins Robertson Brewer and stepfather, Bill Brewer; a daughter, Linda; four sisters, Anna, Pearl Pansy and
Shirley Jean; three brothers, Drew, Jack and
Raymond.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Novella of the home; a son, Kenny
and wife Judy Robertson of Crane, Missouri; four grandchildren, Kristal Hicks
and husband Mike of Crane, Jodie Essary and husband Les of Cape Fair, Missouri,
Katrina Flood and husband Scott of Hurley and Kenny Ray Robertson and wife Jamie
of Willard, Missouri; eight great grandchildren, Jacob and Madison Hicks, Morgan
and Koby Essary, Sierra and Bailey Flood, Dylan and Ashlee Robertson;
sister-in-law Mrs. Raymond (Dotty) Robertson other relatives and
friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Westrip
Funeral Home Crane, Missouri. Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until
service time at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Crane Community Cemetery under the
care of Westrip Funeral Home.
