Raymond Lower
Raymond L. Lower, Republic, Missouri passed away in his home Saturday
afternoon March 9, 2013 surrounded by his
family.
Raymond was born August 14, 1921 to Ernest and Blanche Lower in
Springfield, Missouri. He was a World War II veteran and a long-time businessman
in Crane, Missouri where he and his family operated the Hickory House of Crane
until 1981. Later he became an agent with the Equitable Insurance Company and
owned his own agency, Ray Lower and Associates, which he operated for the past
30 years. Raymond loved people and public
service.
Raymond was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Helen and his son
Steve Lower.
He is survived by daughter Connie Stevens of the home; son Marty Lower
and wife Jami of Clever; daughter-in-law, Joyce Lower of Springfield; sister,
Isabel Guthrie of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; He was dearly loved by five
grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at
Westrip Funeral Home Crane, Missouri. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 12, 2012
from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at funeral home. Burial will be in the Missouri
Veterans Cemetery Springfield under the care of Westrip Funeral
Home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to one of the
following charities: Disabled Veterans, St. Jude's, Parkinson's Association or
the Alzheimer's Association.
