Truman Lee Essary, 72, Galena, Missouri was born March 25, 1943 in Stone County, Missouri to Gilbert and Erma Jenkins Essary and departed this life October 29, 2015 in his home.
Truman was a lifelong resident of the area and known by family members and close friends as “Bub”. He had worked at V-Mar in Crane for over 20+ years, always greeting everyone with a big smile and ornery attitude. Truman loved to fish, coon hunt, read Louis L’Amour western books, collect old coins and spending time with his kids and grandkids, along with his yearly camping trips with his good friends. He will be greatly missed.
Truman was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Erma (Jenkins) Essary; 5 sisters, Evera Essary, Naomi Essary, Eva Matthews, Janet Train and LaFonda Rowe.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Joyce of the home; two sons, Randy Essary and Tony Essary (Shelly) all of Galena, Missouri; three daughters, Michelle Essary (Danny) of Aurora, Missouri, Becky Johnson (JL) and Deborah Reel (Scott) all of Crane; two sisters, Reva Suttles (Joe) of Willard, Missouri and Treva Larsen (Bill) of Springfield, Missouri; 8 grandchildren, Jaci Johnson, Dakota Essary (Haley), Garrison Reel, Jalee Johnson, Ashlynn Reel, Owen Essary, Connor Davis and CJ Johnson.
Funeral services are set for Monday November 2, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the Crossroads Church, Galena, Missouri. Burial will be at the Nolan Cemetery under the care of Westrip Funeral Home, Crane, Missouri. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 3:00 p.m. in the church.
